Heat-treated hot-rolled steel grinding balls for ball mills and SAG mills. The diameter, hardness group and mill duty are matched to your specification before any quotation.
Three product families
Standard hot-rolled balls
Heat-treated steel balls in different hardness groups for mineral grinding.
Group 5 hardness balls
High surface hardness with a specified volumetric hardness requirement.
Enhanced performance balls
Through-hardened options for demanding wear and impact conditions. Suitability and availability are confirmed in a separate technical offer.

Not every hardness group or product family is available in every size. Other diameters, including 32 mm, on individual enquiry.
Hardness groups
| Group | Defining characteristic |
|---|---|
| 1 | Normal surface hardness |
| 2 | Increased surface hardness |
| 3 | High surface hardness |
| 4 | High surface hardness, specified at half the ball radius |
| 5 | High surface hardness, specified volumetric hardness |
Edition, grade and batch compliance are agreed in the contract. Ball mill and SAG duties have different impact requirements; diameter and HRC alone do not establish interchangeability.
Catalogue thresholds
| Diameter | Surface HRC min | Volumetric HRC min |

| 60 mm | 60 | 53 |
| 80 mm | 58 | 48 |
| 90 mm | 58 | 48 |
| 100 mm | 58 | 48 |

Catalogue reference values, not a certificate for a particular shipment. Batch acceptance limits and the measurement method are agreed before ordering.
Inspection and traceability
Each approval package identifies the steel grade, heat chemistry, heat and lot numbers, dimensions, sampling method, surface and sectional hardness, and any agreed impact or repeated drop testing. Microstructure and macrostructure results can be specified where required.
From review to site trial
Technical review
Diameter mix, hardness specification, chemistry, tolerances and test methods.
Qualification
Proposed batch documentation and any independent inspection.
Site trial
Agreed quantity, duration and operating baseline.
Performance review
Wear in g/t, breakage, throughput, grind size and total delivered cost.
